SaaS Development Cost Calculator

Build a realistic first planning range from product stage, roles, complexity, design, integrations and major capabilities. Use the result to improve the questions you ask before requesting a detailed estimate.

1. Product stage
6. Additional capabilities
How the calculator works

A planning model based on product scope, not a one-price promise.

The calculator starts with the type of release you are trying to build, then adjusts the planning range for account structure, product complexity, interface expectations, integrations and capabilities such as billing, AI or a companion mobile app.

It is deliberately a range. Two products with similar feature lists can require very different engineering effort because of permissions, data models, migration, compliance, integration quality, edge cases and operational expectations.

What usually drives SaaS cost

The expensive part is rarely the number of screens.

User roles, organizations and permissions
Billing, plan limits and entitlement logic
Third-party integrations and failure handling
AI workflows, review steps and model operations
Real-time collaboration and notifications
Security, migration, monitoring and production operations
How to use the result

Turn the range into a better product conversation.

Use the estimate to decide whether the current vision fits your available investment, which capabilities belong in the first release and where discovery is still needed. A useful next step is to write the core recurring problem, primary user roles, must-have workflow and integrations in plain language.

If the planning range feels too high, do not immediately reduce engineering quality. Reduce uncertainty and scope first. A smaller release that proves the recurring value is usually stronger than a large MVP with every future idea included.
